[edit] Legislative Notes

I understand your point about neutrality. The legislative notes were originally started by another Wikipedia contributor. All of the points that s/he added were about clean air, pollution, and slots, all of which were slanted to "pro-liberal" voting decisions. To help balance this, I added legislative notes about immigration and the state sales tax. I agree that there are several more taxes that were changed in the latest bill, however, to just state that the delegate voted for HB2 is meaningless to the casual user. To say that the legislator increased the sales tax is more emotional, yet it is still a fact. How about a compromise? I/We can reword it to something like:

Voted in favor of HB2/5, Tax Reform Act of 2007, which raised the state sales tax by 20%, changed the state income tax from a flat tax to a progressive tax, closed corporate loopholes, and increased the cigarette tax by 100%, to name a few.

OR

We can start a page about the Maryland Tax Reform Act of 2007 and link the legislative note to it.

[edit] Saqib Ali

Many thanks for taking on the task of cleaning up this article. I just didn't have time, and (being in Michigan) I don't know much about Maryland politics. I really appreciate it! Kestenbaum (talk) 23:28, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
