[edit] Talk pages

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Hawaiian717 16:19, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

We all probably have things we're embarrassed about on our talk page, but wiki-etiquette is that we don't delete messages from other users on our talk pages. My adding "new" messages to your talk page was really restoring messages that you had deleted. -- Hawaiian717 00:21, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Heh, it turns out I was wrong... see the bottom of WP:TALK where it states that removing of comments from the talk page is permitted, though archiving is preferred. Removal of warnings though does tend to be frowned upon. -- Hawaiian717 15:34, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Notability of Shayla

A tag has been placed on Shayla, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Monni 20:20, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Duy Doan Le

I see her picture in the Economics section in the Vietnamese American article as irrelevant. How is she related to business? She's not even mentioned in the entire article, so it would be out of context to include her. On the other hand, Phuoc Loc Tho is a well-known landmark in the Vietnamese American community, it is the first major shopping center for Vietnamese Americans, so it is relevant to the economics section. DHN 16:04, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

I think that the Category:Vietnamese Americans needs cleanup. They should be subdivided into subcategories like Category:Vietnamese-American politicians as I have done. I've never heard of most of them, and I doubt even half of them pass the notability test. (First V-A judge?! First V-A killed in action in Iraq?! First V-A police officer?! Maybe next we'll have first V-A cell phone user, first V-A professor, first V-A murder victim, first V-A president of SOME MINOR COMPANY INC., first V-A manager at a bank, first V-A student to become a valedictorian, etc.). DHN 16:13, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

I think the fewer pictures of individuals we have in this article, the better. These people are not representative of Vietnamese Americans (else they wouldn't be famous, would they). If we put too many pics of individuals, it'd become a sort of a "hall of fame". I've replaced the pic of Viet Dinh with a pic I took. If you wish to include her picture in the article, make sure she's mentioned somewhere in the article first. One place where you can put her is at the top, where the other 4 people are. [edit] Excuse me?

About the Tila Nguyen being French thing, tilashotspot.com is her official website. She has a forum there too and I asked the question if she was French or not. She (MissTilaTequila) herself answered my post, saying her mother has French blood. So I'm reverting it. ― LADY GALAXY ★彡 Refill/lol 18:23, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
