[edit] Duboce Triangle

Seems like there may be no such thing as an "official" neighborhood definition in S.F. Or at least the borders are really blurry.

The city website has a pulldown box listing neighborhoods, which then hilight a map - it puts most of Duboce Triangle in "Castro]]/Upper Market", with the blocks north of Duboce in in Western Addition. I lived in the 'pointy end' of the triangle for a while, and never knew exactly what to call it. The blocks around the Mint definitely have a different character than the Lower Haight. It's not really The Castro, and on the wrong side of Market to be Mission District. Living there, I got mail from the Hayes Valley neighboorhood association, but it seems a really stretch to lump it in to that neighborhood. I did find one website which called it "TriBeSa" for "TRiangle BEhind SAfeway". But calling that end of the triangle Mint Hill seemed like the best option.

But this Duboce Triangle Neighborhood Association map does exclude the Mint and the houses directly north. It suprises me - the blocks west of Buchanan between Herman and Waller seem entirely in the character of the Duboce Triangle area. And that map makes the triangle not a triangle.... But I'll change the text. --Key45

  • I like the change. And it does seem the borders are blurry. I now live in the TL and no one has a precise definition for either, it seems.

[edit] Kristin Hersh article edits

Thanks for your attention to the KH article I have been working on. I am trying to improve my contributions and hope to invite collaboration from any folks who are interested in researching the same subject matter. I don't know if you've heard this artist's music before but perhaps you have, as she is based in California these days. Emerman 07:20, 23 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Chemical warfare

Thanks! Also, since you've done some work on chemical warfare, I thought you might be interested to know that I've nominated it to Featured article candidates. I was hoping you would take a look at what we've done, and maybe help me perfect the article into something that we can all be truly proud of. -- ClockworkSoul 02:13, 22 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Sorry, forgot that you posted on my talk page. I am not too attached to Ballroom Blitz - Que Sera Sera. -- ALoan (Talk) 23:17, 23 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Honorifics and titles

I have posted a proposal on honorifics in my user space that I would like you to read: User:Ford/proposals. Your comments on Talk:2004 suggest that you might be supportive, though I am not certain how far you would go. Thanks.

[edit] Return of the Untagged Image project

You were kind enough to contribute to the Wikipedia:Untagged images project; I beg to draw your attention to part 2 of the project - there are about 12,000 more images in need of tagging. Any assistance you could provide would be most welcome. thanks --Tagishsimon (talk)

[edit] An apology

Hello, just wanted to say I mistakenly tried to log on as your username. I use the handle 'trick' myself on a couple of web forums. Not until after I had clicked "email new password" did I recognize my mistake. Hope this doesn't cause you any trouble. My sincere apologies.
