[edit] Image Tagging Image:Musk.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Musk.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. -- SoothingR(pour) 10:47, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Nandk.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Nandk.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. [edit] License tagging for Image:DSC00283.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:DSC00283.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:06, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Panchchuli

Hi Tribhuwan--thanks for your contributions to Panchchuli. You'll notice I put in a slightly updated set of coordinates for PC II. Do you have a reference that you can cite for the first ascent and coordinate information in the body of the article? That would be great. Thanks -- Spireguy 19:34, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Various suggestions

Hi Tribhuwan---Thanks again for your energy and your contributions regarding the peaks of Uttarakhand. We obviously share some interests, and I look forward to more input from you. However I have a few suggestions/requests. First, I wonder if you were planning to write articles for all of the peaks in the list Himalayan Peaks of Uttarakhand. I would advise against it, as these peaks are not all notable enough to merit separate articles. At most, some of these would merit inclusion in a merged article of the one you started for Arwa Group Of Himalayan Peaks. I just don't want you to do a lot of work that might end up deleted for lack of notability.

Also, could you please use edit summaries more consistently? It would be most helpful, and it is considered bad form not to use them. Thanks -- Spireguy 19:43, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Hello again. I wanted to add to the response I gave at Talk:Himalayan Peaks of Uttarakhand, which you should probably read before reading this. First, I wanted to clarify once more what I think could be the issues with that list of peaks. All of this, of course, is my opinion, which you are free to disregard. Some of the peaks on the list are highly famous, and certainly merit separate articles; e.g. Thalay Sagar. Some of them are not so famous, but probably merit separate articles. Some of them (e.g. most of the ones with a number after the name, and most of the "(Peak Name) North West" type), should probably be grouped together, as we have discussed. As these are all named 6,000 metre+ peaks, and since you have sources for them, they probably all merit mention of some kind, at least on a group page. It seems that at this point you are working with that kind of goal in mind, which means we may be in rough agreement.

However, as I mentioned on the talk page, the kind of list you have created can make other editors react negatively, perceiving it as a raw list, with no claim to notability. The fact that it is a large list with mostly redlinks (so far) is the main reason it would stand out. It might be better to only add peaks to the list when you have created articles for them, so that it is not so overwhelmingly red. I don't know if anyone will come along with that attitude, but if they do, they may drastically edit your list in their own way (or even delete it), which I'm sure wouldn't be pleasant. (But some other lists much like yours have stood for a long time, so it may not be a worry.)

As I said, these are all just suggestions; I'm not trying to tell you what to do.

I want to make a more general comment as well. Since we do share some interests, we have been editing the same pages quite a bit lately. I have valued your contributions and your energy, as I have said, and I want our relationship to be collaborative, not competitive or combative. I know from experience that when another editor starts actively editing pages that I have created or have an attachment to, it can feel a little hostile. That is of course not my intention. If we keep up a cordial dialogue about our mutual interests, then I think we can stay in a collaborative mode, which I look forward to. -- Spireguy 02:12, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Dear,Spireguy Thanks for all above.I am very sorry for writing all that absurd to you! ,I misunderstood you a bit.I do believe in creating some kind of nucleus of knowledge to let it grow.I am of the firm believer that it should be spread, shared and mutually enriched.I will definitely follow and regard your mature and valuable suggestions .Here I am removing all the peaks ,whose pages are yet not ready. You please help me in adding extra bit of knowledge to it.I am really happy that mature persons like you are in the world.Thanks.Tribhuwan 03:02, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:DSC00297.JPG

Hello, please add a note to the image description page where this place/mountain can be found. Without that, the image is not useful for any article. Thank you in advance. --GeorgHH (talk) 17:51, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
