Tristram is a fictional town in the Diablo video game series.

[edit] In Diablo
In Diablo, Tristram is the central (and only) town in the whole game. The town provides a market place for the character to buy and sell objects, as well as store objects (via dropping them on the ground) and to receive in-game quests. The town has various NPCs that provide services or information. Doorways that provide shortcuts to different levels of the dungeon appear at specified times throughout the game on the outskirts of town.
[edit] Characters appearing in Tristram
[edit] Pepin the Healer
The town healer. He sells health potions and rejuvenation potions as well as elixirs later in the game. He will also heal your character for free.
[edit] Gillian the Barmaid
She doesn't provide a service, but rather gives information (however unhelpful it may be) on the player's quests.
[edit] Ogden the Tavern Owner
The owner of the Tavern of the Rising Sun, Ogden gives you helpful information throughout the game, as well as a few quests.
[edit] Griswold the Blacksmith
The town blacksmith provides weapons and armor for purchase, both basic and enhanced. He will also buy any weapons or armor you no longer need. He will give you a few quests, as well.
[edit] Farnham the Drunk
This once brave warrior now spends his entire day staying intoxicated. He will give drunken responses every time he is approached, although he does provide one quest in the game.
[edit] Cain the Elder
The town elder, Cain gives very insightful knowledge on quests. He also identifies items... for a price.
[edit] Adria the Witch
Adria the Witch sells mana potions, scrolls, books, and staves (she can also recharge staves). Later in the game she also sells elixirs.
[edit] Wirt the Peg-Legged Boy
A scoundrel at heart, Wirt charges fifty gold pieces to simply look at the single item he has for sale at any given time. But he changes the item often, and he is the source for most of the best items in the game, although his prices are very high.
[edit] Wounded Townsman
A brave warrior who was mortally wounded in the dungeon beneath Tristram. He will only appear if you have the "The Butcher" quest.
[edit] In Diablo II
In Diablo II, your character will return to Tristram in the third quest of the first act, known as "In Search of Cain." Upon entering Tristram it is revealed that the town has been destroyed and is only a shadow of its former self. The town is infested with Fallen and Shamans, as well as Skeleton Soldiers and Goat creatures. The central enemy here is the blacksmith Griswold, now undead. The dead body of Wirt can be found, and upon approaching it you will be greatly rewarded (consider it payback for all the money you gave him in the first game).
