General elections were held in Trinidad and Tobago in 1991. They were won by the opposition People's National Movement, resulting in Patrick Manning becoming Prime Minister for the first time. The ruling National Alliance for Reconstruction lost 20 of its 22 seats and was beaten into third place by the United National Congress (which had broken away from it during the previous parliamentary term).
