Common names: large-scaled tree viper,[2] large-scaled pitviper.[3]

Trimeresurus macrolepis is a venomous pitviper species found in the mountains of southern India. No subspecies are currently recognized.[4]

Found in the mountains of southern India. The type locality is listed as "Anamalai hills (Tamil Nadu State, southwestern India)."[1]
