Trilby, Florida is a small town in central Florida (33593), and in the northeast corner of Pasco County. It was incorporated late in the 19th century and due to the loss of its railroad industry, has declined into a residential community for Dade City, and also for the Tampa Bay region.

Trilby has a "Greater Trilby Community Association" which exists to improve the life and quality of residents of the Trilby, Trilacoochee and Lacoochee area.

Trilby was named in 1896 after the heroine in George du Maurier's novel of the same name. Legend has it that the wife of railroad magnate, Henry Plant, suggested the name because the previous name, Macon, was confused with Macon, Georgia.Denny Mihalinec was Trilby's Honorary Mayor from 2003-2006 Denny Mihalinec founded The Greater Trilby Community Association back in late 2001 early 2002 to improve the quality of life for his community.
