Tribal record labels
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tribal house is a form of dance music which began in earnest in the early 1990s in the USA. Often cited as a pioneering moment in Tribal House history is the seminal record River Ocean featuring India "Love & Happiness (Yemaya Y Ochun)" (released on Strictly Rhythm in 1994).
The popularity of tribal house however can be most attributed to the legendary Tribal America Records and its spin-off label, Tribal United Kingdom. Both labels closed in 1996 but were responsible for influencing dozens of others across the globe. Some of the most notable tribal house influenced labels are Twisted Records (US), Kult Records, Stereo Productions (Sp), Hammer Music USA, Murk Records, Yoshitoshi Records, Star 69, Kaos Records, Ready Mix Records, Magna Records, Royal Drums, Iberican Recordings, Tribal Spain, Distinto Recordings, Slanted House, Spiritual Life, Anodyne, Deep Touch Black, Beatfreak Recordings, Loop 128, T.U.S.O.M., Low Pressings, Wave Music, and Spacecraft.
