[edit] 1996 Summer Olympics
He competed in badminton at the 1996 Summer Olympics in mixed's doubles with partner Minarti Timur. They were defeated in the quarter final by the eventual gold medalist, Kim Dong-moon and Gil Young-ah of South Korea.

He competed in badminton at the 2000 Summer Olympics in mixed's doubles with partner Minarti Timur. They won the silver medal after being defeated by China pair, Zhang Jun and Gao Ling.

He competed in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's doubles with partner Sigit Budiarto. They were defeated in the round of 32 by Robert Mateusiak and Michał Łogosz of Poland.

He also has won the Badminton Asia Championships three times. He won his first continental title in 1996 in mixed doubles, together with Lili Tampi, and the other two titles in men's doubles, in 2001 with Bambang Suprianto and in 2004 with Sigit Budiarto.

Tri is one of the only three players who have won the Indonesia Open 4 consecutive times. He achieve it between 1995 and 1998 in mixed doubles event, together with Minarti Timur.
