Tri Dubai
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tri-Dubai was a Triathlon team composed of ten athletes both male and female who competed at the Ironman distance in the sport. These athletes have made a significant mark on the Ironman circuit in recent years[citation needed], netting many wins amongst them. The athletes have also competed and placed well on the Ironman 70.3 tour and in many Long course Triathlon races.
The team brought together exceptional athletes to both compete at the elite level as well as to support various charities through awareness and support. Tri-Dubai worked on charity projects only a few at a time so that the focus can be on specific goals. The team was founded and owned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum of Dubai. The purpose was originally to advertise Dubai as a business partner and leisure destination to the relatively affluent and high-achieving demographic of triathletes worldwide.
The team was disbanded at the end of the 2006 season.
