[edit] NHL nominated but not obtained

Hi. Nice article, and nice work on the related Frank Mills architect article! I added note in this article that the church was nominated for NHL (evident from the NHL nomination document cited), but that NHL status was not obtained (evident from it not being on the List of National Historic Landmarks in Alabama. I imagine the failure was due to the church having been moved. I recall that is an explicit factor for consideration in the guidelines for NRHP / NHL evaluation, in guidebook linked at National Register of Historic Places article. I think a very well-educated speculative comment in the article, along those lines, would be justified. The best source would be the NRHP / NHL correspondence about this site. For New York State sites, that correspondence is made available along with nomination documents. For Alabama, I don't know where you would obtain it, but you could try requesting it from the nr_reference team at the National Park Service. Hope this helps! doncram (talk) 00:26, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks! I didn't even know that, but I'll see what I can find out. Altairisfartalk 00:52, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
