[edit] Dinosaurian status of Trialestes

Because the forelimbs assigned to Trialestes are more consistent with a basal crocodylomorph than with a dinosaur (Clark et. al., 2000), Trialestes is probably a chimera of crocodylomorph and dinosaurian material. The name Trialestes, in this case, will be attached to the dinosaurian material and the forelimb material will have no scientific name. Indeed, there will be a revision of the global Triassic dinosaur record (Irmis et. al., in prep.).
