Trevor Morgan was a fictional character in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. He was played by Alex Ferns. He first appeared in December 2000, and became a regular cast member the following summer, after moving into Albert Square with his wife Little Mo.
His marriage to Mo was violent; he regularly humiliated and beat her despite her attempts to keep him happy. On one occasion, he grabbed Mo's head and rubbed it in her Christmas dinner. He also burnt her hand with an iron during an earlier argument. When he raped her, however, she finally fought back; shortly afterwards, on New Year's Eve 2001, Little Mo battered Trevor over the head with an iron after he tried to violate her again. Mo believed he was dead but when she and her family returned to dispose of Trevor's body, he had gone. Trevor had staggered into an alley, where he collapsed and was found by a passer-by. He reported Little Mo to the police and she was charged with attempted murder. Trevor gave evidence at Little Mo's trial with was very biased in his favour, and despite strong evidence of domestic violence, the jury found her guilty. Nevertheless, her conviction was quashed within weeks on appeal.
Trevor had an affair with a woman called Donna Andrews, and they had a son, Sean, who was born in 2001.
Trevor later returned to the Square to spy on Little Mo, and on Halloween 2002, he snatched her from the office at e20. Trevor had turned up in disguise as a monster and pretended to be "Donald Andrews". He later started a fire in the Slater family home with Little Mo and Sean inside. Little Mo and Sean were rescued by their neighbour Tom Banks, who, along with Trevor, was killed when he went back into the burning house for Trevor and the flames ignited a can of oil, which resulted in an explosion that rocked the Square.
[edit] Reception
Trevor Morgan was voted "Most Hated Soap Villain" by readers of What's On TV magazine, with 21% of the votes. In second place was Coronation Street's Richard Hillman, with 16%.[1]
The scene in which Trevor poured gravy onto Little Mo's dinner plate, pushed her face into it and then forced her to eat turkey off the floor was voted 57th in Channel 4's 100 Greatest Scary Moments.[2]
