Trent Gardner was the fourth born of five children (three brothers and one sister). His was a musical family, with his father playing clarinet and singing in various groups, and his mother starting him off on piano. His musical exploration began at the age of 9. The catalyst according to him was, "my sister kept playing Magical Mystery Tour, Three Dog Night, and some other psychedelic stuff over and over. I just kind of freaked out over it."

Trent's musical tastes eventually went in the direction of the 1970s prog outfits, but also included a keen interest in Chicago, Earth Wind & Fire and Blood, Sweat & Tears.

Trent Gardner resides these days in Vacaville, California.

Trent's main band, Magellan is known internationally for its own brand of progressive rock.

Trent has produced music with many renown artists such as Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Steve Walsh (Kansas), Tony Levin (King Crimson, John Lennon, Pink Floyd ), Steve Howe (Yes), Terry Bozzio (U.K, Missing Persons), as well as a long list of other successful artists. His various "production" side projects include "Explorers Club" & "Leonardo The Absolute Man" (which include members of Dream Theater)

As either performer, writer, or producer, he has credits on over 30 commercial album releases.

Affiliated with BMI as both publisher and songwriter, he is a voting member of N. A. R. A. S. (National Academy Of Recording Arts & Sciences) see Grammy Trent is also a member of the National Music Publishers Association.

Trent is co-founder and COO of HipSolve Media LLC

Trent also serves as General Manager of Muse-Wrapped Records, LLC
