[edit] History

Trelleborg AB was founded as Gummifabriks AB in 1905. The company had about 1,000 employees 1935, 3,000 employees 1955 and 6,900 employees 1975. In 1977, the company was renamed to Trelleborg AB .

Throughout the years, Trelleborg has been producing various rubber products. This includes bicycle tires, tennis balls, etc. The Asian market today offers far cheaper products of this "simple" kind, and Trelleborg AB is instead focusing on advanced products such as protective suits, high-pressure vaults, and specialized tubes for submarines and airplanes.
