[edit] Talk

This section is for all those who have requested this translation, are translating or proofreading this article, or just want to give some advice about the translation in progress. Do not forget to watch this page.

In particular, you can use {{Doubt | original sentence }} or {{Doubt | original sentence | possible translation}} to highlight the problems you encounter during the translation process.

[edit] Material to include

For the Discography, it is only necessary to carry over Albums and Singles; the Soundtracks are for Japan-only films. Be advised that most translator 'bots destroy the legal-name pronunciations needed in this Translation. I managed to isolate some pages on ja.Wikipedia.org to which the original Article (麗美) links:

  1. Clarion girl (クラリオンガール).
  2. Correct Matsutoya Takashi (松任谷正隆). (Actual name should be Masataka Matsutoya. - BCS)
  3. Correct Matsutoya reason actual (松任谷由実). (Actual name should be Yumi Matsutoya. - BCS)
  4. Shunji Iwai (岩井俊二).
  5. (日本語) Composer (作曲家).
  6. Mayumi Horikawa (堀川まゆみ).

It is possible that not all the referenced links are needed. - B.C.Schmerker 02:07, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Inexperienced editor?

I noticed that User:Sabazou placed the first part of the translation on the Talk page, Talk:Reimy, rather than the Article page. I managed to get a preliminary translation of part of the Discography done, plus some basic statistics; bit I'll need a proofread. - B.C.Schmerker 16:31, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Quality of source text

Be advised that the original article on ja.Wikipedia.org may have syntactic errors, prim. relating to the use of particles. - B.C.Schmerker 16:16, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reference to Clarion Girl, M/M Mastutoya

Taking into consideration the issues of particles previously described, I estimate that the actions concerning an event on January 1, 1984 would come out as follows:

  • クラリオンガールの姉が持っていた麗美の写真が偶然関係者の目にとまり、1984年1月1日、松任谷正隆由実夫妻の全面的バックアップでデビュー。1993年頃からREMEDIOSとしてドラマ・映画のサウンドトラック、CM音楽などを手がけるようになる。  ⇔  A photograph of Reimy in the possession of the elder Horikawa (viz., the former Clarion Girl) caught the eye(s) of certain persons on January 1, 1984, initiating M/M Masataka Matsutoya's full-scale backup debut; consequent management of film-soundtrack and CM music under the Remedios name commenced around 1993....

To any "ja6" reading this page, feel free to correct any error traceable to my lack of experience. - B.C.Schmerker 05:25, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Instructions

Updating the information on the translation

The translation process normally involves the following stages: "Request," "In Progress," "Proofreaders Needed," and "Completed Translation."

It is, of course, possible to backtrack to the previous stage (if you have decided to not continue translating, for example). It is also possible to skip a stage, especially if you want to start translating an article you chose immediately; in this case, you would skip the request stage by not putting it on the page for the current month's requested translations.

To pass from one stage to another, you must:

  • modify the parameters of the progress made on this page, and
  • put the {{Wikipedia:Translation/Reimy}} banner, which will take care of all the rest, in the right place.

Note : if, in a particular situation, you think that the template takes up too much space, you can use the following syntax instead :

{{Wikipedia:Translation/Reimy| Parameter = hide }}

The table below shows all the steps needed for each stage:

Stage Parameters to modify {{Wikipedia:Translation/Reimy}}
Stage 1:
Translation Request
It starts at the creation of the page and involves the following parameters:
  • {{Translation/Information|language code|original name of the article to be translated|name of the translated article (in English)}}
  • Interest
  • Comment
  • Requested By
Stage 2:
Translation in Progress
  • Stage ==> 2
  • Translator-s ==> ~~~
  • Proofreading_progress => 0
  • Permanent_link => [URL ~~~~~][1]
  • Comment ==> you may post a new comment if you wish to do so
Stage 3:
Proofreaders Needed
  • Stage ==> 3
  • Translation_progress => 100
  • Comment ==> you may post a new comment if you wish to do so

Each time someone volunteers to proofread, he/she must modify the following parameters:

  • Proofreader-s ==> ~~~
  • Proofreading_progress ==> XX (percentage of proofreading done)
Stage 4:
Completed Translation
  • Stage ==> 4
  • Proofreading_progress ==> 100

Please add the following to the bottom of the article to follow GFDL norms:

{{Translation/Ref|Language|Source|oldid=parameter of the permanent link}}

Example : {{Translation/Ref|fr|Liberté|oldid=12133757}}

The last template is to be used to mention the source of a translation from another Wikipedia (again, to respect GFDL norms):

  1. ^ Explanation : If the translation takes a while, the original article risks having changed quite a bit throughout, making the translation and eventual proofreading problematic.

    You can avoid this problem thanks to the Permanent link function, which appears in the toolbox at the lower left of every page.
