On direct translation is means "ram-stone". However the name of the Band is derived from the 1988 Airshow disaster on the US Airbase Ramstein in Germany when 70 people got killed by colliding AirJets. On start the Band was called "Ramstein-Flugschau" (Ramstein-Airshow) and then renamed to <<RAMMSTEIN>>. (Source http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rammstein )
