[edit] re: Japanese names
Yes, I realize this, but this is the English wiki... I don't think we have a specific standard for this, although I think the general consensus is to write names in English order. -- EmperorBMA|話す 01:59, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Oh that's no problem, but I think either style is valid for modern people judging by the Manual of Style on Japanese Names. The family name capitalization is not according to this... -- EmperorBMA|話す 02:17, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
The rule is open for negotiation, but you'd have to start a discussion over there. For what its worth, I think both sides were considered, but I didn't pay much attention to that specific debate. You may want to talk with Taku about this though, since this seems to be his area. -- EmperorBMA|話す 02:44, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Oh and by the way: 宜しくお願いします。ようこそ英語のWIKIPEDIAへ。 (If this sounds odd, I am a bit of a hobbyist ^^; )
Hi! Regarding that, Morinosuke Chiwaki is more common than Chiwaki Morinosuke, so I moved to Western order, BUT with the name in Japanese order next to the Kanji. (Morinosuke Chiwaki (血脇守之助 Chiwaki Morinosuke, March 1870-24 February 1947)WhisperToMe 08:47, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Scenery of the Tuki no Misaki of 1400 years agoi.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Scenery of the Tuki no Misaki of 1400 years agoi.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Longhair 00:05, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] AFD notification
[edit] AfD nomination of Hebi zaka
I've nominated Hebi zaka, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Hebi zaka satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hebi zaka and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Hebi zaka during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. (Note: This AfD applies to all the -zaka articles you created.) Sandstein 22:10, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Japanese word format
Could you please use the following format when entering Japanese words in the wikipedia?
{{nihongo|english|kanji|romaji|meaning}} → english (kanji romaji?, meaning)
Japanese names: {{nihongo|Junichiro Koizumi|小泉純一郎|Koizumi Jun'ichirō}} → Junichiro Koizumi (小泉純一郎 Koizumi Jun'ichirō?)
In a sentence: {{nihongo|''[[Kamezuka Kōen]]''|亀塚公園|Turtle-Mound Park}} sits on the seaward side of the slope. → Kamezuka Kōen (亀塚公園 Turtle-Mound Park?) sits on the seaward side of the slope.

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:絶江坂.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:絶江坂.JPG. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 14:24, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
