My biggest problem, I think--in context, anyway--is that I hate writing anything about myself. I hate to describe myself. I'm only slighty paranoid (I really should say I have paranoid tendencies, as they're nowhere near enough to be called a disorder) but I've always felt that describing myself, especially to people I don't know gives them a sort of power over me...

You have no power over me!

Now that I've gotten that quote out of the way, I shall now force myself to write about myself.

I have a fascination with the English language. To some people, grammar is a difficult struggle, but to me writing with proper grammar is just how it works. (I do, of course, disregard some of the more esoteric rules when writing colloquially; I don't want to frighten people away!) This probably comes in part from having a copyeditor for a mother.

Using correct English is of particular interest to me because I am a writer. (I write fantasy novels--short ones, generally; I'm still working on that. No, I've never been published.) A writer has to convey everything with words, and abusing the language is tantamount to an artist yanking the bristles out of his brush.

Along with fixing grammar mistakes, I try to keep articles pertaining to my interests up to date and lacking incorrect information. In other words, if I see something wrong (like a blatantly untrue statement or the use of future tense when the future is really the past) I'll fix it.

I am also (as can be guessed) an avid reader. In fact, of all the awards I have recieved in my life, the one that honestly I am most proud of is my Most Avid Reader award--from seventh grade. My favorite genre is indeed fantasy. I will read high fantasy but generally avoid epic fantasy-- despite wikipedia having both be the same article, they are not synonyms, and should not be treated as such. I'll have to fix that one day.

Other than reading and writing, my main interest is (no, not 'rithmetic!) music. I used to play the violin, but have not in about three years, so I imagine I'm rather rusty. I can also play one song on the piano.

Because of my lack of instrumental prowess these days, my musical focus has turned to songs. I sing bass in a four-part choir. I also adore Broadway musicals. My three favorites are Wicked, RENT, and Spamalot.

I think I've rambled on long enough now.

The problem is, or rather one of the problems, for there are many, a sizable number of which are continually clogging up the civil, commercial, and criminal courts in all areas of the Galaxy, and especially, where possible, the more corrupt ones, this. The previous sentence makes sense. That is not the problem. This is: Change. Read it through again and you'll get it.
