Travis Rice

Travis Rice (born September 10, 1982[1] Jackson Hole, Wyoming) is considered by some to be among the best snowboarders in the world[2]. He has excellent all-around skills in backcountry, park, and pipe. He is known for his airs and approach to difficult tricks, including the first ever double back flip to fakie at the Red Bull Gap Session 2006. Travis is also known for rockin dirtbag beard growing abilitys which makes him 10/10 radd[3].

Travis recently signed an equipment sponsorship with Quiksilver, who own other companies that already sponsor him including Lib Tech Snowboards and DC Shoes. Additional sponsors are Bluebird Wax, NEFF Headwear, Grenade Gloves, Jacks Garage, Nixon, and Ampd-Cellular. With the addition of Quiksilver as a sponsor, Travis Rice is no longer a member of Oakley's Global Snowboard team.

  • 11th, Nokia Air & Style Big Air Competition [6]
  • 1st, ICER AIR, San Francisco, CA (Big Air event). With a best run score of 95[7] for his Double backside Rodeo 1080[8].

  • 3rd, Ticket to Ride (World Snowboard Tour) - TTR World Snowboard Tour 06/07 Final ranking[9]
  • 1st, ICER AIR, San Francisco, Ca (Big Air event). With a best run score of 88.25[10].
  • TTR SIX(6)STAR Nokia Air & Style 2006 : Travis won the Nokia Air & Style event in Munich, fighting off competition from Shaun White, Antti Autti and David Benedek amongst others. Travis' winning run consisted of the first ever Double Backflip to Backside 180[11] ever performed in competition followed by a Cab 540[12]. The Air and Style are considered to be some of the most prestigious Big air events on the snowboarding calendar.
  • TTR SIX(6)STAR Nissan X-Trail Jam 2006 : Travis came in 1st in the Nissan X-Trail Jam 2006 Big Air event, and 2nd overall in the Quarterpipe and Big Air combined. Travis' winning Big Air run included his signature Double Backflip to Backside 180.
  • 2nd, X Games 13 (Best Trick Showdown)
  • 8th, X Games 13 (Slopestyle)
  • TTR SIX(6)STAR Burton US Open 2007 : Travis won his first US Open Slopestyle competition with a frontside boardslide on the first rail to a backside 720 Japan Air, frontside 720 melon grab, backside rodeo 720 nosegrab, switch backside 180 and a frontside boardslide 270 off on the final rail. Travis' backside rodeo 720 also earned him the Snickers Best Trick award[13].
