Travis Demsey

Travis Demsey was the drummer of Australian band The Living End from May 1996 until February 2002. After their original drummer was fired, Chris Cheney and Scott Owen, the two remaining members, recruited Travis in a Melbourne music store at which he worked. Throughout his time in The Living End he became famous for his massive bouts of energy. Travis played at the Homebake Festival in 2000 with a broken ankle. Trav left the band due to a growing dislike of heavy touring.
After the Living End, he formed a band called 'the Knockout Drops' with a few of his drinking friends. He currently plays drums for Melbourne Celt-punk band The Currency, who have supported Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys. Travis has also been a drum technician for many bands including Jet, and has worked at Mannies.

- His style was very 'Keith Moon' he would often burst into drum solos and break drumsticks, even break his kit.
- He wrote the lyrics to an unreleased The Living End song called 'Bully'.
- The Living End song 'Uncle Harry' was somewhat based on Travis's real uncle.
- He loves his tattoos and cars. His right arm is covered with a tattoo of a dragon. He has also featured in a tattoo magazine and Street Machine magazine.
- His surname is actually spelt Dempsey, but he chose to drop the 'P' when he became involved in mainstream music.
- He drinks a lot of Coca-Cola.
- Travis is currently also a Social Worker, and as part of the ROAR program, he visits schools and prisons and talks to the Youths.
