Travel Team is a story written by columnist Mike Lupica about a boy named Danny Walker who lives in Middletown, New York on Long Island. The sequel to this book is Summer Ball.

At the beginning of the book, Danny Walker is cut from the town travel basketball team, the Vikings. The same team that his dad was on, which he took to the National Championship. After Danny is cut, his father (a former NBA player, whose career was cut short due to an acccident caused by drunk driving) forms a team of the 'misfits' who were cut by the team. After the teams first win, Danny's father has another accident. This one was not caused by drinking. Danny becomes the coach of the team, which beats the Vikings from a pass from Danny, to the coach of the Vikings son, Ty, who joins Danny's team.
