Travel Midland Metro is the name of the company that operates the Midland Metro tram system between Birmingham and Wolverhampton in the UK. Travel Midland Metro is a fully-owned subsidiary of the National Express Group, who also owns the local bus company Travel West Midlands. The Travel Midland Metro brand name and logo are not carried on trams and on other publicity, just 'the Metro' branding. Travel Midland Metro does not own the Midland Metro: it is owned by Centro, the West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive.

[edit] Future

Although National Express Group are rebranding their UK operations in 2008, this will not include the Midland Metro as the company does not own the system. On 4 Feb 2008 National Express said that this subsidiary company will retain its current name.

[edit] Extensions

Midland Metro was planning a number of extensions to its network. Although none have yet to start construction. The Brierley Hill / Merry Hill extension was put on hold in March 2007 due to financial problems
