[edit] Plot

Ralph is in a bad situation after witnessing two robbers shooting a security guard at the pool hall. The robbers see Ralph and shoot at him, just missing him as the bullet goes through his hat. Ralph tries to forget about the whole thing because he is worried that if he reports to the police, his name and address will be published in the newspaper, giving the burglars an opportunity to kill him. Alice finds out about the situation after Ralph comes home trembling with fear. She tells Ralph to call the police to save them, but the two crooks enter the Kramden apartment and hold them hostage. A police officer comes to the door. The robbers take Alice into the bedroom and tell Ralph to send the police officer away or they will kill Alice. Just as the police officer leaves, Norton enters, while the robbers are still in the bedroom. Ralph frantically urges him to leave, and eventually he does so. However, he barges in a little bit later once the robbers have left the bedroom, and he is taken hostage as well. Alice and Norton are both tied up in chairs while Ralph must negotiate with the robbers before they are all killed. Ralph refuses to obey their commands, reasoning that they will not shoot him because their is a police officer guarding the building, who will be able to get to the room very quickly and arrest them. One of the burglars then takes Ralph into the bedroom, and loud bangs are heard. Alice is screaming for the burglar to stop, thinking that the burglar is beating Ralph. Eventually, Ralph emerges from the bedroom with the robber, who has signs of being beaten on his face. Ralph has the robber's gun and uses it to force the other robber to surrender. Ralph and Norton then take the burglars downstairs, where the officer is stationed.
