Transport in Třebíč

Třebíč is an important traffic junction. Třebíč is situated on trans-country roads I/23 and II/360. Třebíč is a junction for trains from Brno to Jihlava. Trains buses and taxis also operate in Třebíč.

From year 2000 reconstruction of road II/360 is realized. This road will connect Třebíč to motorway D1. Reconstruction was started in Trnava. There was built new orbital. Oslavice, Oslavička part I, Velké Meziříčí small orbital are next parts of reconstruction.

First mention of mass urban transport in Třebíč is dated to opening new road connecting centre of the city wit railway station Třebíč-Starč (1871). Traffic was guarantee with omnibus, what have capacity 18 people.Omnibuss run several times a day and they were very fully occupied. Traffic was closed with opening new railway station in Třebíč in year 1886. In 1980s years 20th century was plan taking trolley-bus transport on area of the city. Today people also think about construction of cabin funicular railway run from center of the city to town district Nové Dvory.
Buses have been running in the city since the 1950s and the town has been connected to the rail network since 1886.
