TransPerfect is a family of companies providing global business services in over 100 languages.
Headquartered at 3 Park Avenue in New York City, TransPerfect has over fifty offices worldwide. The company provides translation, interpretation, and related services to business clients.
As of 2007, the company had a network of 4,000 linguists and project management staff, and 650 full-time staff across North America, Europe, and Asia. The company had an annual revenue of $113 million in 2006 and executed 30,000 translations projects that year.[1]
TransPerfect Translations, as it was originally called, was founded in 1992 by Elizabeth Elting and Phil Shawe. It is one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the U.S. according to Inc. Magazine 500. Its founders have been recognized as Ernst & Young Entrepreneurs of the Year.[citation needed] Co-founder Elizabeth Elting has been recognized as Woman of the Year by American Express[citation needed] and Entrepreneur Magazine.[2] and has won the Working Woman Award for Excellence in Client Service.[citation needed]
In May 2006, Boston Business Journal announced that ArchiText would merge with Translations.com, a subsidiary of TransPerfect.[3] In June 2007, a Dutch localisation company iSP announced it would become a division of Translations.com.[4]
