Traitor (TV drama)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Traitor is a 1970 or 1971 BBC drama, which appeared on Play for Today.

It was written by Dennis Potter. It starred the well-known British comedy actor John Le Mesurier in what is regarded as his most important straight acting role.

He plays Adrian Harris, a character loosely based on Kim Philby, although he may also contain elements of Guy Burgess. There is an incident based on the Volkov incident in Philby's autobiography.

Potter revisited the subject of the Cambridge spies in his drama Blade on the Feather (1980).
