Tragano (Greek, Modern: Τραγανό, Ancient/Katharevousa: -on, not to be confused with trachana), older forms Traganon is a town and a municipality in the northern part of the prefecture of Ilia in the western Peloponnese. GR-9/E55 (Patras - Pyrgos) is 3 km E (old: 4 km) and is linked with a road connecting Andravida and Olga along with Borsi and Markopopulo and down to Agia Mavra, Roupaki and Amaliada. It is located 4 km E of Andravida, 68 km (old: 69 km) SW of Patras, W of Borsi and the Pineios River Dam, about 2 km NW of Agia Mavra, about 12 km NW of Amaliada, 35 km NW of Pyrgos, 33 km NW of the Pyrgos By-Pass, 4 km E of Andravida and 17 km (old: 19 km) E of Kyllini.

Much of the population live inside the town. The rest live in a few communities.
Tragano has a school, a lyceum, a gymnasium, a church, a post office, and a square (plateia) which is situated in the centre.
The area are made up of forests in the north and bounding with the airport in the northwest especially the municipal border with Andravida. Farmlands lie around town and especially to the north and groves are situated in the southwest and southeast with a few forests. The hills lie to the east and has forests and farms lying to the east. The military airport is 7 km SE and 4.7 km SE directly.
