Tracey Ward

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tracey Ward is one of the longest serving presenters on BBC WM, having been on the air for over 12 years. Tracey currently presents Tracey's Jail Mail - a live weekly letter based programme for prison inmates and their families in Birmingham, the Black Country, Coventry and Warwickshire on BBC WM and BBC Coventry and Warwickshire.

Tracey's career at WM began when she began to answer phones and research items. Jail Mail began when she read out a letter from a prison inmate on Coral Chapman's programme, and as more and more inmates wrote in the item became known as Tracey's Lockdown Letters. An inmate from HMP Brockhill suggested it should be renamed "Tracey’s Jailmail". Jailmail went from strength to strength and became a show in its own right in 2001. As of 7th July 2006 Jailmail was extended to a two hour show.
