The Trac 90 is a Transportable RAdio Communications (model number) 90 United States Army Troposcatter, initially introduced in Vietnam in 1963.
It was used to communicate over 20-60 mile (30-100 km) links, often over mountains.
Troposcatter broadcasts high power signals beamed to reflect off clouds and the scattered signal is picked up by dual sensitive receivers, selecting the better signal. TRAC 90s often worked in conjunction with ab MRC 85, ((Moble Radio Communications) which use dual drive in size antennas.
