[edit] Editing request for trap, skeet and sporting clay articles

The trap, skeet and sporting clays articles refer to each other near the beginnning, saying they are similar but different.

There is a lot of text explanation of each, but no clear explanation of what the differences are between them. Two have (unclear) explanations of their differences, but seem to contradict each other.

Can someone please write one-sentence explanations of each of these, which also makes clear their differences, and place all three explanations at the beginning of all three articles?

I am willing to do peer review on the explanations to make sure they are unambiguous to someone not familiar with the subjects.

In standard Trap, there are 5 positions for shooters. RPellessier 18:40, 2 Jan 2005 (UTC)

am the author of the latest revision to this page. I am tempted to make some more extensive changes. Some of the stuff does not seem to be of general interest. For example, should an encyclopedia article really get into discussing the brands of shotguns and shells? The section on Olympic trap seems to be POV in advocating Olympic over American trap. Do all shooters really receive the EXACT same targets? I don't think so as long as the game is played outdoors.Harold14370 13:25, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

very very helpful as to my book report. Very informative and helpful and all asspects of trapping. nice job and very well presented. -Andrew

I agree, that the mention of brand names of guns and ammo seems a bit, well, crass, and does not belong in the wiki. Iglam 20:19, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
Perhaps just the model numbers like the wiki articles on military hardware? And this if they click on the link the can learn about the manufactuer of the particular item there.

[edit] Olympic Trap section

The "Olympic Trap" section of this article doesn't really seem to comply with WP:SUMMARY, being longer than the text in the main Olympic Trap article. Shouldn't most of what's in the section be merged into that article? -- Jao 07:46, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nordic trap

I think this section needs to be elaborated on. To say that one type of trap is "easier" than another sounds too subjective for me, not to mention that there is no description of what is involved in it. 76.169.36.21 (talk) 21:05, 7 December 2007 (UTC) Buzwad (talk) 21:06, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
