Please keep this page under "transport" and don't change back to the longer American word "transportation", jguk 09:03, 16 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Why would we use "transportation"? It's incorrect for the case of Ireland. The Republic has a Department of Transport and Minister for Transport for a reason. 10:30, 17 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Bridge/tunnel

I find this incredibly hard to believe — bridges/tunnels are the exception, not the norm, and the only ones I can think of are in the UK/Japan/possibly America. Reference point: List of islands by area. I'll remove the above quote if it isn't backed up (sources!) soon. Njál 02:48, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- I agree - it does sound unbelievable. I suggest remove it sooner rather than later. Off the top of my head, I can think of Madagascar, Iceland and Tasmania - I'm pretty sure (but haven't checked) that none of these have bridges/tunnels connecting them. --A bit iffy 03:46, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
