[edit] Peacock terms

Some parts of the article suffers from Peacock terms and some have original research. First line, "Delhi being a large metropolitan city and having far-flung urban extensions..." is not encyclopedic. Wikipedia has a policy to avoid peacock terms. "Having a highly developed road infrastructure...", developed compared to what? who told that it's highly developed? Delhi has not been noted by BBC best transports around the world. Indhira Gandhi National Airport is a busy airport agreed. But who told that it's "one of the busiest airports"? The cited link only states figures.

"Hiring an Auto in Delhi is very tricky, as very few auto-drivers agree to standard meter charges. The typical method is to haggle for an agreeable rate..." Who asked this? The article is not on Wikitravel. It's not a Delhi tour guide. Write it in a formal tone. Write about Auto rickshaws, number of auto rickshaws in Delhi, starting price, price per km of ride. Night charges if any etc.,

Totally, the article is not written in a neutral tone.

See these articles Transport in Hong Kong, Transportation in Greater Tokyo etc., Mugunth(ping me!!!,contribs) 02:53, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Exactly, the article is written in an 'informal sort of tone', we will try to make sure that it adheres to Wikipedia standards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TvKimi (talkcontribs) 14:40, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

The article is still a Start Class article... I'm removing the reassessment comment from the Wikiproject India page...Mugunth(ping me!!!,contribs) 05:02, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Surely the article needs attention. Focus should be laid on data and referencing. But still a lot of improvement has been there since last one one month. I will be focussing on peacock terms issue. Working to make it an 'A' class article. - ℳanikhere since June' 2007 ( talkcontributions ) 10:20, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Under the current assessment scheme, this article may narrowly fall in the B-class (but this is debatable). However, User:Mspraveen would probably still be right to assess it as a start-class article under a future-assessment scheme (when it is ready and can be implemented). Let me emphasize: it will take a lot more time and effort to improve this article to achieve any higher grade than a B. As this article still could do with some improvement even before it becomes a B-grade article, I, as the main member of the assessment team, agree that this article is still a start-class article for now. I wish you all the best in improving this article. Ncmvocalist (talk) 00:44, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
