[edit] Recent Edits
I have reverted part of an edit by Chewy m as it made no sense (poor grammar). Chewy m if you wish to repost your edit please discuss it here first Dellarb 11:51, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Ah, you are right - that was a typo; it should have read "Transperth operates line-haul, circumferential and rail-feeder bus services." Referring to an "extensive bus service" seems POV and not encyclopedic. I think this is more succinct and complete than saying that some bus routes serve the CBD and others link to train stations - any thoughts? --Chewy m 12:54, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Fair enough I am happy with something like "Transperth operates line-haul, circumferential and rail-feeder bus services within the Perth metropolitain area. Many bus services provide links from the suburbs to train stations while some others link directly to the CBD." I just feel only stating the types of routes seems to short. Sound acceptable? I have combined the two sentences into one (the second sentence doesn't really add anything else): "Transperth operates CDB-oriented line haul, cross-suburban and rail feeder bus services." --Chewy m 13:22, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- I reverted your edits as the previous version is more descriptive where this new version is focusing on CBD services which isnt accurate. Gnangarra 14:20, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

- What is now in the page for busses is fine by me, it sums everything up well. I've also added some citations where you referenced them for the railway, will see what i can find on busses Dellarb 15:04, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Smartrider
Every Transperth bus is equiped with at least one SmartRider reader, although on some buses the display reads "Out of service". I've only found this on the rear two readers on the older two-section buses. Not sure how to incorporate this into the article. Spook 11:50, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
That was a problem that has now apprently been resolved (drivers hadn't logged on to the system).--Hack 11:40, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] SmartRider Images
Does anybody know about the copyright status of Transperth images such as those listed here? splintax (talk) 14:02, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
- I've found those pictures in the brochure from Transperth's website, seems it is the same picture is. Is that we need to take a photo for an alternate version of these? --Shinjiman ⇔ ♨ 04:38, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Will trams return?
I am surprised, given that Perth has been seriously considering "better public transport" that there have not been any real plans to reinstane trams, will it happen someday (hopfully not under the silly "Light Rail" tradename, LRT is a heavier technology for big high capacity "railway researve" systems)?Myrtone (the strict Australian wikipedian)(talk)
- IMO Perth is so built up now that it would be impossible to reinstate trams. It was a fraction the size in 1960 than it was in even 1980, with a lot less scope. We also didn't have the Mitchell Freeway or the Joondalup Line back then. Maybe there is a scope for Vancouver's SkyTrain in our little corner of the world though. [edit] Bikes?
If someone would like to add something maybe a section on policy around luggage I know suburban trains let peopel bring bikes aboard but most busses will not.
[edit] Metropolitan Transport Trust
I've created a redirect there to Transperth - it should be filled out as an article, but I have only the most basic background knowledge on the topic. Anyone wanting to give it a go? Orderinchaos 06:36, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
