[edit] maxamle?

why is transmutate under the maxamle side she is neutral —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.176.173.43 (talk) 04:07, 9 April 2007 (UTC).

Transmutate is a Maximal protoform. user:mathewignash

She may be a Maximal protoform, but she never chose a particular side. That would make her neutral, despite her origins. Eternalslumber 14:48, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
She never allied with Optimus or Megatron's sides, but she is a physically a Maximal, just like Quickstrike, who joined Megatron's side, even through he's a Maximal. user:mathewignash
...As well as Black Arachnia, Inferno, an Rampage. Any new characters that are introduced are technically Maximal, because they ALL come from the Maximal protoform stasis pods ejected during the pilot, as mathewignash stated; save for the rebuilt Decepticon Ravage, Transmetal 2 Dinobot, and DepthCharge (who went to Earth in search of his nemesis Rampage). user: PharoDarkSide

Rampage (protoform X) was far from a Maximal protoform, he even had his own pod, the one with the big X. TF timelines comic says that group of Maxis were supposed to drop his body off somewhere. user: Raven Zombie —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.224.66.47 (talk) 06:40, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Blank protoform

The article asks the question why Transmutate's spark wasn't 'transplanted' to a blank protoform. The question is a good one but really - Rhinox found the blank protoform, which he called a "dud", soon before Optimus went into space (an episode or two). He had to explain what it was too, implying that the team wasn't accustomed to actually finding them and that was probably an isolated or extremely rare case. So maybe they just didn't have any blanks? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.238.84.9 (talk) 23:25, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

I think that's basically that's what Rhinox proposed. He wasted to put Transmutate into stasis until she could be fixed. It would require new maximal programming and reformatting, but it could be done. Silverbolt wanted to let her be free, not force reprogramming on her. Mathewignash 23:50, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Gender

Was Transmute's gender actually mentioned? It's been a while since I saw the episode but I'm certain that Transmute was an "it" rather than a he or a she. I know that Transmutate was voiced by a female voice actor but that doesn't mean much since male characters are commonly voiced by female actresses in animation.

just checked a video clip on the web. Transmute is distinctly referred to as "he". It is Transmutate's spark that is referred to as being "it".
