[edit] Sound clip
It is well known that Transcona residents have a unique english accent. It would be nice if we could add an exemplar sound clip.
- Well known by whom? Been a Winnipegger for the past 27 years, and a Transconian for the past 2.5, I've never heard mention of that (though I have heard other, non-encyclopedic comments about the residents). Transcona's a mix of people from all over Winnipeg, so there's not much chance of a "Transcona accent." (And, before you ask I"m not contributing my voice for a few reasons: 1) I'm not originally from Transcona, 2) I've only lived in Transcona for two and a half years, and 3) I have a speech impediment (completely unrelated to living in Transcona!) which would not be a good example of any kind of accent.) --Canuckguy 04:23, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed, no such thing. I've lived in t-cona since i was 6, and the closest thing to a "transcona accent" is that lots of people around here are idiots and speak as such. terrible grammar, but other than lack of teeth, no distinct 'accent' --aoystreck
I think the references to Trashcona should be removed. This is obviously as bad as making vulgar comments about the north end of the city. Its very degrading. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.77.254.0 (talk) 17:29, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Proposed page move
As per WP:CANSTYLE#Neighbourhoods, this article should be moved to Transcona, Winnipeg. In accordance with the guideline, however, the move is first being raised on the talk page. Skeezix1000 (talk) 16:59, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
