[edit] I would really welcome some images on this page
And some spell checking! This is a lot of work for one session and I need sleep. Namaste in agape B9 hummingbird hovering 14:16, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

- The "Trance and Health" section is completely wrong about alpha, theta, and delta states. Ironically, it disregards the other sections that articulate info on beta, alpha, theta, and delta states which are correct.
- Unsigned comment. Why poke holes rather than assist in scholarship and beautification?

[edit] Good wiktionary page
Maybe move and split the parts relevant to each meaning?
- Agreed. I'm going to tag it, then we can be WP:BOLD and clean the heck out of this thing. Part Deux 18:40, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- It's a mess, yes, but there's a lot more than a dictionary definition - I take it you plan to move the relevant parts and leave an article here, without most of the the definitional stuff. If that's your plan, I agree. --Chriswaterguy talk 15:10, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup
Yea this page is really messy and stuff and could use some work in format. I'm putting up a Cleanup tag. -Eridani 15:49, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- Oh nvm, it seems it's had a cleanup tag since February...I couldn't see it at first for some reason... oh well. -Eridani 15:50, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] New lead section could use some work
On 3 August I added a one-sentence lead section with edit summary "added a minimalist lead section since there is none; volunteer needed to expand it per WP:LEAD". Today's new lead section,
Trance is an arch categorical term to denote a variety of processes, techniques, modalities and states of mind and consciousness. Trance states may be induced or occur unbidden. Trance may be conflated with: meditation, play, magic, prayer and the former categorical terminology altered states of consciousness, which as it entails an inherent value judgement is no longer engaged in Consciousness Studies discourse.
seems overly complex and jargon-laden, as well as wandering off to deprecate the terminology altered states of consciousness. Somebody should rewrite this according to WP:LEAD, especially WP:LEAD#Provide an accessible overview. --CliffC 00:10, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- I corrected the above entry to make clear that the WP:LEAD is the entire section before the first heading, not a single paragraph as it seemed to suggest. --CliffC 23:49, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Etymology
Acronyms like F. and OF. makes this less understandable to a person that's not familiar with such acronyms. The section where they are should be cleaned up.
In Christian Rätsch's lecture (at Psychoactivity Conference in Amsterdam 1998) : Psychoactivity, The Fountain of Culture http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7140377893864168262 starting at 24minutes 30 seconds Rätsch explains shamanistic trance state. He says than in most languages of Nepal the word trance translates as shaking. This would seem to match with to shiver. Is it okay to reference this kind of lectures?
