Much of this article is framed in extremely, extremely non-NPOV (and condescending) language. Whoever wrote this article obviously thinks anyone with a traditional mentality is a hate-filled bigot, and you can tell. Algabal (talk) 12:27, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

  • I don't see it. But I'll keep an open mind. Thanks! --Firefly322 (talk) 05:39, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Merge, rename, or do nothing

The AfD discussion closed with a number of people mentioning renaming or merging. Any proposals? Any new names? Any existing articles where this content could fit in better?-Andrew c [talk] 01:49, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Perhaps Social conservatism in the US? Though I'm shaky on the difference between cultural conservatism and social conservatism; the articles claim there is a difference yet don't actually say why (in an American context, anyway). This article needs to be rewritten in any case; I've been thinking of how I might do it, but honestly I haven't yet found the energy. — confusionball (talk) 00:27, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
Ah, looking again, I see you already suggested Social conservatism in the US in the AfD. So, for what it's worth, consider this an endorsement. Cheers! — confusionball (talk) 00:37, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] What it appears to be

It looks like someone took a class in this topic and wrote up some of what they learned, using required and suggested sources. I think it's fine. --Firefly322 (talk) 05:24, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm trying to go through and take out all of the original research and synthesis, but I'm thinking this article is completely unredeemable. It is clear by the author's initial edit summaries that this was an essay he was writing for school, written to establish a particular point of view. How can this possibly be turned into an encyclopedia article? How could it possibly have survived AfD?? BradV 21:50, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Once all the WP:OR is taken out there will be nothing left but a couple of references to books written on this topic. Can I just redirect this to Conservatism in the United States, and work some of the references into that article? BradV 21:55, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
