Tržič is a town and municipality in northern Slovenia near the Austrian border (Loibl Pass). As of 2002 it has a population of 15,151 inhabitants. Much of the town's architecture was constructed in the Classicist style. The leather industry is important to the economy of Tržič. Because of its alpine setting, alpine skiing is popular in the surrounding area. Tržič was the native town of the countess Francisca von Strassoldo Grafenberg, wife of the famous Austrian general Joseph Radetzky.
