Talk:TPS report (Office Space)

I contend the use of this term in the aforementioned movie does NOT warrant its own page. IMO it should br re-worked into the main TPS report page and/or the Office Space page.

The term from the film itself is not used commonly enough to warrant it's own entry. Furthermore, if the item IS indeed a common slang expression, it deserves its own entry on a site such as urbandictionary.com, and its slang use should be worked into the TPS reports main page.

In addition, it is poorly written, as it mixes tenses and contains several grammatical errors.

Suggestion: Streamline the entry by correcting the grammatical errors, making it more "encyclopedic." Secondly, merge the entry into the main TPS Report page--or delete it altogether.

If there is any overlap between the two uses of the term, I would support a merge. I'm not sure that both uses deserve an article on each of them. Jason McHuff 06:14, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

I like the TPS page. I was looking for a TPS definition to send some one, found this page, and it was exactly what I wanted. I vote keep it.

Removed: TPS can also stand for "Transactions Per Second", used to measure database speed or the number of transactions a financial computer system handles. Initech was updating banking/credit union software for Y2K, so performance measurements could be a normal part of software regression testing. Reason: The fact that there is a memo concerning the requirement of new cover sheets for the TPS report indicates that this is a regular document. This seems to go well with the well-known term "Test Procedure Specification" Report. However, a "transactions per second" report would not be a regular report, nor would should ad-hoc reports justify a formalised cover sheet.
