P.S. Yes I did rip this off from someone Nathanlarson32767 18:14, 8 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Someone notified me that some IP was going around vandalizing a bunch of stuff. I checked a couple, saw an edit summary that said "You'll never stop me" or something like that, and rolled back all the edits the person had done in the past few hours or so. Incidentally, your message violates Wikipedia:Wikiquette. Please read it and keep a civil tone or you may be blocked. CryptoDerk 16:50, May 10, 2005 (UTC)
- Yeah, if legitimate edits got lost, I'm sorry. Hopefully you have put them back. I was just rolling back what someone told me was mass vandalism. CryptoDerk 17:04, May 10, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Jeffrey W. Parker VfD
I'm sorry if I came across as a bit harsh in my remark on the Jeffrey W. Parker VfD discussion. The votes for deletion page unfortunately attracts a lot of controversy and also a lot of the more undesirable elements of Wikipedia, consequently editors tend to be sensitive to edits that look "funny"—particularly those from anonymous IP addresses. I am not suggesting that your comments were not meant in good faith, but rather convey why other Wikipedians might seem a bit less friendly and welcoming there than other places.
Jerzy perhaps jumped to some hasty conclusions about you and the anonymous IP addresses. You wouldn't believe some of the incredibly creative ways that vandals try to slip around bans and blocks, and it perhaps makes some admins chase the occasional ghost. Users who edit both logged in and as anonymous IPs also make admins twitchy. I'm not going to try to tease out exactly who is who, and which IP addresses belong to whom.
There's nothing wrong with being assertive or correcting misinterpretations and misrepresentations of your position. Regardless, I would encourage you to be as civil as possible. I stand by my reading of "reckless bullying", "despicable", and "terrible excuse for an admin" as personal attacks and "...or perhaps they will be notified" as a threat. If you're concerned about Jerzy, feel free to make use of the dispute resolution mechanisms here at Wikipedia—including a polite note on his talk page. From your mention in Jeffrey W. Parker I gather that you work in a hospital; write with the same level of respect that you give to patients and their families. --TenOfAllTrades (talk/contrib) 20:40, 10 May 2005 (UTC)
- In referring to your hospital work, I didn't intend to imply that I had some deep insight into your personality. I mentioned it only because it suggests you are used to dealing with people...some of whom may be more difficult than others. I urge you to employ the same civility and tact here; there are real people behind every edit on Wikipedia, and most take their work here quite seriously. Some are well-meaning but kind of flaky.
- If you are concerned about Jerzy's conduct as an admin, drop a note on the Incidents subpage of the Administrators' noticeboard. You are much more likely to receive a helpful response if your comments are clear, concise, and restrained. If you feel that a more formal hearing is required, I would suggest opening a Request for Comment. (If you believe he has been blocking users inappropriately, then you want the Use of administrator privileges section down towards the bottom of the page.) I hope you find this helpful. --TenOfAllTrades (talk/contrib) 22:29, 10 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] "menial project"
- There you see, he's going on wiki'break' until August, so that ought to be enough. I don't think contacting his place of work is called for or appropriate Func- or anyone else who believes in that. Your lame devotion to this, all in all, menial project is nothing short of pathetic. Lighten up, will ya? Tparker393 15:29, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Um...say what? Are you trolling, or what? If you don't like our menial project, then I suggest you stop participating in it, (and if I was using a work place computer for trolling, I would fully expect to be fired). func(talk) 16:18, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Don't write me messages- i don't care what you have to say. Yes, you're project is menial and no, i'm not a troll as these computer geeks have so-titled it. I say what i want, to who i want and i don't care if i offend you. Don't tell me what and what not to be a part of- i don't need your pissant advice. If you think this is troll-esque then why don't you go get a box of tissues and blow your nose. Tparker393 16:25, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
If you don't care about what other people say, then why do you believe that others care about what you have to say? If you can write me a message in which you refer to my lame devotion to this...menial project, then I think I have a right to respond. func(talk) 17:01, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Please be civil
Please do not make personal attacks on other people. Wikipedia has a policy against personal attacks. In some cases, users who engage in personal attacks may be blocked from editing by administrators or banned by the arbitration committee. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Please resolve disputes appropriately. Thank you. Leuko 03:45, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
