Talk:Toy Mic Trevor
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
While I accept that this appears to be accurate, is a fairly minor (and IMHO pretty poor) street crooner really sufficently important to be included in the encyclopeida?? Iain 7 July 2005 13:38 (UTC)
Yes --El Froggo
Charlotte Church is "sufficiently important" then? [BobT]
[edit] WP:MUSIC
As a great fan of the Trev, I had a look at WP:MUSIC to see if he passed. I feared that he might not. But he does! ... marginally.
A musician or ensemble (note that this includes a band, singer, rapper, orchestra, hip hop crew, DJ etc) is notable if it meets any one of the following criteria: ... Has been featured in multiple non-trivial published works in reliable and reputable media (excludes things like school newspapers, personal blogs, etc...).
- There's the Dick and Dom appearance on BBC1.
- According to [1], he's appeared on BBC Radio 1 not once but twice.
- According to [2], he had a recording on Red Dragon FM's playlist for a while.
(I'd like independent confirmation of the above two, though)
- BBC Wales Music had a throwaway mention of him ... in an article on the awesome Queen Street Bin Man (aka Ninjah).
- NBC5 Chicago (!) had a mention too.
I think if he's getting mentioned in overseas published media, he deserves an article. How many buskers achieve that? Vashti 15:39, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
