Townsend Church of England School

Townsend C of E School is a voluntary aided school based in St. Albans, Hertfordshire.
The school is a Church of England school, the only one in that area and the Headteacher is Mr.A.Wellbeloved BSc, PGCE. Townsend School seeks to provide a Christian education of the highest possible quality to all of their students. They selection process to get in to the school, which allows people of a religious bases and people of a non-religious bases to apply to the school.

Townsend have a Respect For All policy, written by students and staff, which affirms their commitment to each member of the community as an individual within all aspects of school life. It expresses Townsend's strong commitment to equal opportunities. Each child is valued as an individual and encouraged to take an active part in all aspects of school life. The school for children from the age 11 til 18, as they have a sixth form.

At Townsend we believe that every person is equally important and that no-one has a right to harass, insult or cause offence to any other person for any reason. We particularly reject the way that some people abuse others:
because they are richer or poorer, older or younger, because they are small or tall, thin or fat, because of the colour of their skin, because they are male or because they are female, because they are a teacher or a pupil, because of their religion, because of handicap or personal problems, because of their looks or what they wear, because of their likes and dislikes, because they are popular or unpopular, because of their ability or lack of ability, because of their nationality or accent,
We are all individuals with differences, but we are all members of Townsend and can learn from each other.

At Townsend there is a vast range of subjets that can be leart. Of course there are the normal subjects like English, Maths, Science, R.E, History, Geography, French, German, Food Technology, P.E, Drama, Music, Art, Wood work and ICT. But there are also subjects like Russian, Media Studies, Health and Social care, Travel and Tourism and Electronics that are sometimes not learnt in there schools.

Towsend compete in a lot of sports at a high standard. The sports that they teach and compete in are; Gymnastic, Rugby, Swimming, Netball, Cross-Country, Athletics, Cricket, Tennis, Rounders, Football, Basketball, Hockey, Volleyball, Softball, Water polo, Trampolining, Orienteering.
