Town of Ithaca
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ithaca was a local government area of Queensland that was amalgamated into the Brisbane City Council. The division of Ithaca was proclaimed in 1879, before becoming a town in 1903, and finally amalgamating into the current Brisbane City Council in 1925.
The Town of Ithaca comprised most of the western suburbs of Brisbane from Kelvin Grove Road to Mt Coot-tha and the head of Kelvin Grove Brook. An area just before the junction of Waterworks Road and Kelvin Grove Road formed the southeastern extremity of the town.
