Talk:Township (China)

It seems that this term is often translated as "village" rather than "township." Badagnani 08:29, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Translation 2
- Excuse me please, I'm from the German Wikipedia and just read "Township (China)". I'm quite sure, that it's just the other way round. In present day PR of China the 镇 zhèn (what you call "town") is far more urban than the rural 乡 xiāng (called "township" in the English Wikipedia). Both are political (administrative) divisions of the same level. So in German language and Wikipedia, too the translation for 乡 xiāng is "Gemeinde" and for 镇 zhèn is "Großgemeinde". --62.225.117.54 14:27, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
