Casino
Ahh Meester well done on the GA. I was rather surprised it didn't pass 6 weeks ago. (has it really been that long). Could you do me favour and quickly read the Preity Zinta article and participate at Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography/A-class review/Preity Zinta when you have a moment. Your words would be much appreciated cheers. I'm looking to get this to a FA asap ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 13:12, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Cheers buddy, . Hey I kind of get the impression our friend Vikrant has returned to his old ways, or did he ever change? It was almost impossible to edit articles when he was on them - hes done a good job on most of them but I still feel he has taken out certain things that are useful. A one man band I think. Hey are you up for working on Thunderball film soon enough?. I haven;t had much time on Bond lately. It would be nice to get it into shape ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 13:26, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Sad about Deborah Kerr isn;t it -I know she was a favourite of yours. It would be good to get her article up to FA to honour her. I see it already a GA proposal -I'll be willing to help you get it promoted ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:02, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Yes its amazing isn't it. Somehow I don't think he's got his mits on that yet but only a matter of time. I don't know if the Kerr article is up to GA yet - it may need some more referencing and some more details I think ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:05, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
I think we ought to take OK Connery under our wing - it starred many members of the Bond cast and starred Sean Connerys brother ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 12:22, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Preity Zinta FA
Hi. I'd like to thankyou personally for your comments which helped the Preity Zinta article achieve A-class status. Due to the wealth of support I have decided to now nominate for an FA class article which I believe and judging by the comments of others is pretty much up to. In my view it is better than some existing FA actor articles. I would therefore be very grateful if you could give it a final review in your own time and leave your comments and views at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Preity Zinta. Thankyou, your comments are always valuable. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 10:57, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes what a complete arse. Clearly I didn't ask anybody directly to support it , respectably I asked for him to leave his own opinions and views after reviewing the article. Seems I was getting him mixed up with another user. Clearly he doesn;t have any experience of wikipedia. I have only seen clips of OK '67. Wow that was some year for Bond parody. I believe Connery was intially pissed at his brither and Moneypenny and M for being in it. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:16, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
GA review of Node Magazine
Hello, and thanks first of all for reviewing the Node Magazine article. I'd like to reply to your comments, but I don't want to interrupt your review, as you seem to be in the process of revising it. When you are finished, could you possibly leave a note to that effect on the talkpage? Thanks, Skomorokh incite 14:07, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Difficulty in contacting you
I hope I am now able to answer you regarding Deborah Kerr.
My involvement with Deborah Kerr is personal, in that I'm a professional writer who got to know her and some of her colleagues such as Robert Anderson (Tea and Sympathy).
Regarding documentation, I have personal letters from her and many people I cite, who wrote correspondence to the Academy and the British authorities, etc. to get her the Oscar and royal honour.
Except for an interview by a Scottish Sun reporter, who quoted me in a long piece about her and an article in the Helensburgh, Scotland newspaper after I raised a ruckus about there being no tributes to this fabulous lady in her home town, I am afraid I don't have the sort of official citations you say you need.
I can't imagine why anecdotal stuff from legitimate authorities would not be taken seriously from people such as myself who are established professionals (IMDB and other Internet sources).
However, if that's what you require, so be it. Unfortunately, if my tales (and others) are left out, it won't tell the full story and fill in a lot of the missing pieces about this wonderful lady who has just left us.
I might add that it's intriguing that her husband died so soon after. And in Marbella, Spain. There was no indication as to whether he was even with her when she died. I was told by Robert Anderson that they lived apart most of the time ever since her health started failing. I'm not surprised he is being buried in Spain. Haven't heard about where her funeral and interment was, but I assume it was in Britain, considering her family lives there. Very odd indeed.

Verifiable sources
The question then is: What is a verifiable source?
For example, in the Hollywood Reporter obit of Deborah there were a number of errors. They referred to the play she toured in as "The Day After the Affair," instead of "The Fair." They referred to her disastrous affair with a young student in "Tea and Sympathy," which isn't at all what happened in the play/film. She has sex with him at the end to prove his "manhood" to him and it isn't predatory at all.
There were other mistakes in the article and I wanted to write, then didn't as it was well after the fact (I had been in Brazil when she died).
So, I guess what I'm saying is that just because it's in print doesn't make it right. And if you have first-hand information from people who knew her or knew people who knew her and who are verifiable sources by dint of their being in the same profession, etc. I would have thought that should be enough. I'm not talking about gossip, but, for example, how the town of Helensburgh, Scotland rejected a plaque honoring her as one of their own simply because she'd actually been born in a Glasgow hospital. Ridiculous provincialism.
Or digging into more salacious stuff why her husband apparently wasn't with her when she died. I don't know that for a fact, but as he died of lymphoma in Marbella, Spain less than three weeks later, I'm assuming he was in bad shape himself and didn't just hop on a plane in England after she died to go to Spain. I'd heard several years ago from Robert Anderson (author of Tea and Sympathy) that they had a very strange marriage, and that while she lived in Klosters, Switzerland, he was in their home in Spain. It isn't a major stretch to go from there that when her health declined and since he was nowhere around it was decided by her daughters that she return to Britain for her final years to be near them.
Anyway, I could go on and on -- not to mention the Oscar campaign. The factual part that Roddy McDowall became the point man on the Academy Governors to get her the honor. This was told to me by another Governor, Hal Kanter, who also served on the Writers Guild Board of Directors with me. And that I had talked to McDowall for years about Deborah after my own letter writing campaign on her behalf -- but that he was campaigning for Vincent Price until the actor died.
There may not be newspaper articles about all this (although there is about the Helensburgh stuff, because I have such an article, which was written after my visit to the town), but it seems a shame that this sort of information is not shared with the general public who don't click on the discussion button and thus don't get the full picture.
However, with a Writers Guild of America strike on now and all of us heavily engaged in that, I really don't have time to worry about this anymore. She's gone. My campaign to make her a Dame is over and I guess I should now campaign to sell one of my scripts. She had a grand life and I'm proud to have known her and met her.
All best,

Kerr
I just stopped by Deborah Kerr's article and i noticed that almost all of the article's problems have been fixed. If you renominate for GA i'll review it. Yamanbaiia 13:41, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
- No, i'm saying that if you renominate it i'll give the article a thorough look, and then help fix the problems. The thing is that if i start editing now, then i won't be able to review it, and when you (or i) renominate it Kerr will again sit there forever until someone else reviews it. 1997 Red River Flood in the United States GAN
I believe that we have addressed all of the issues you have raised in your review of the article. I would like to say good job in your review, I was embarrassed that I didn't catch the contractions and some of the sourcing. I also liked the idea of including the image of the river, which was something I didn't think about. If any of the issues you raised have not been met, please leave another message on the talk page. I also added a few more sources and information, so please take a look at the history of the article to see if any of the new changes needs to be corrected. Thanks for your review, and I hope you continue to review GANs to help with the large backlog. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 08:41, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Excellent work friend glad it made it. They demoted Zinta back to a B when it received 25 votes even for a FA!! I'm currently feeling very tired and unable to keep editing consistently I need a bit of time away again. Deborah Kerr again
I just happened one more time to get back on your page, and although I understand your reasons for deleting earlier references, as a professional writer I believe I heightened the "lead" of the story, which you have deleted again, so I'm not going to bother any further.
I originally changed it to emphasize the most important part of her persona, that she was a six-time Oscar nominee, Broadway star, etc. etc., and you have reverted the opening sentence to feature the fact that she was a Golden Globe winner, which is not nearly so significant an honor as being nominated for an Oscar six times or as well-known an award throughout the world.
So be it. It is your article. And I'm still on strike.
In answer to your question about the Cannes Film Festival career award, she won it in 1984, and I'm inserting a hyperlink to the honour that year (I hope it works for you). She was given the honour by her director friend Stanley Donen (The Grass is Greener), and I must say that it is a very understated ceremony, as compared to the Oscars, for example. Very quick. On and off with a lot of applause and cheers, but no film clips, as with the Oscars.
She looks and sounds great (at 62), and it shows you how much she declined in voice and appearance by the time she got the Oscar ten years later (assuming you have that tape, which I do). Here is the link and good luck with your article. The link still works (I just checked it), but I don't know how long these hyperlinks work (I've been trying to figure out how to download the videos, as I was able to do with the NBC nightly news coverage of her death, but that was on You Tube and there is a program to download such things). I also have hyperlinks for the TF1 (France) television obit, and also from CBS news (couldn't get the ABC one), BBC, UK Channel 4 and a couple of others if that interests you. Here's the link:

BTW, I'm sorry this went on a public page, but I cannot figure out how to send a private message to you (I looked everywhere -- the only thing that looked like it might work is "email this user" but it indicates that you don't have such an account).
Sorry for the public response.

Thunderball
Hey check out Thunderball (film) I done a lot!! of work on it today. It resembles the shape of Casino Royale 2006 now doesn't it. It will need a lot of work and referencing properly but I would love to see an FA for all of the Bond film evnetually. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 22:07, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
george martin
It dosen't really mention it in the article, but George Martin was the composer to the soundtrack of Live and Let Die (73). So if David Arnold goes under our scope then Martin should.
It's a little poor that the article dosen't mention this in it's material. But under the "Discography" section, it is mentioned and there is a template with his name on it at the bottom.
So fairly, George Martin goes under our scope and therefore should remain. SpecialWindler talk (currently offline ) 02:15, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
