Talk:Tovata Confederacy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It should be noted that current confederacies in Fiji were introduced by the British, Kubuna and Burebasaga were place names in old Fiji, Fiji was divided into many chiefdoms and neither exercised authority over the other, the introduction of confederacies allowed for more control and order for the new united Fijian Kingdom after 1874, research and sources would have to be provided but maybe someone could incorporate this in the current articles, just a thought

[edit] Why Sukuna is considered part of Tovata

While Ratu Sukuna was Kai Bau But Vasu Levu to Lakeba he held a signifcant Chiefly title within Tovata eing that of the Tui Lau so thats why he is considered as a Notable person of Tovata, but he would share Notability in both Tovata and Kubuna but he should not be removed from Tovata. I hope to find your understanding.

please read what I posted at User talk:Maikeli#Ratu Sukuna of Bau or Lakeba or both, the Turaga Talai was born Bauan but had himself transferred to Lakeba. --Xorkl000 04:07, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
