[edit] Controversy

The film is being part-funded by the Venezuelan government, a fact which has proved controversial.[3] The President of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, is an outspoken critic of the United States and George W. Bush in particular. This funding was confirmed by the Venezuelan Assembly in 2008.[4] It is intended to help establish Venezuela as a centre of filmakers trying to combat the "cultural imperialism" of Hollywood.
