Touch Detective 2 ½ (Osawari Tantei: Osawa Rina - Season 2 1/2) is an adventure game for the Nintendo DS. It is a sequel to Touch Detective, also on Nintendo DS. It was released in North America on October 9th, 2007.[1]

[edit] Gameplay
Players take control of Mackenzie, the Touch Detective. The game for the most part is played out on the Nintendo DS Touch Screen, though at times, Mackenzie's inner monologue will be displayed on the top screen. Clicking around an area will move Mackenzie. Players can also click on the townspeople to talk to them, or on items to pick them up. Players can use items they've collected to solve puzzles or gather valuable information from the townspeople.

- Mackenzie
- Recently accepted into The Great Detective's Society. Not especially fond of her title, Touch Detective.
- Funghi
- Mackenzie's faithful pet play toy and companion. He also comes in handy when secret documents need to be destroyed.
- Cromwell
- Mackenzie's butler, and part-time inventor.
- Penelope
- One of Mackenzie's best friends. She's a bit odd to say the least. Always seems to be in trouble.
- Chloe
- Mackenzie's rival. She's always trying to beat Mackenzie when it comes to solving the case.
- Inspector Daria
- A red-headed seasoned and more experienced inspector who has no patience for Mackenzie and tries to solve cases before she can. She has severe motion sickness, and often throws out her back when making an entrance.
- The Cornstalker
- Not just a professional thief but a master of disguise. Very ominous presence. Becareful.
- Ace and Friday
- A mysterious young man with a blog and a grudge, and his rodent associate "Friday the Freeloader."
- Mayor Tom
- The mildly corrupt mayor is even more of a turkey than most ugliets politicians.
- Eric
- A petty saleman who cheats on his clients into making a profit for himself.
- Harrison
- A tough, hairy archelogist who seeks in finding rare artifacts, fossils and relics and put a name for himself.

- Episode 1 - Robbery, The salvation of an ancient relic
- Penelope comes to Mackenzie's office because her colored noodles were gone and only found white noodles in it. Mackenzie starts the investigation only to find out that everyone in town has no colored noodles and was stolen. Mackenzie enters the Noodle Festival and won first place in the dance comeptiton (by luck). She later found out that a page was torn out from Mayor Tom's "Top Secret Picture Book". She manage to find the missing page with Yvoone and manage to tell Mayor Tom about it but as soon as he meets Yvonne, he has forgotten about it and just tell Yvoone a job well done on her noodle making. Mackenzie finds a heart-shaped fossil that was dropped by the Mayor and after further investigation, she found out that someon was trying to destroy the town after the treasure is stolen. Mackenzie suspects Mayor Tom after his weird behavior and reveals himself as The Cornstalker. But thanks to Mackenzie's cunning plan and the help of the Heart Tree, she manages to foil The Cornstalker's plans but he manages to escaped. But the mystery behind the dissapearance of Penelope's colored noodles wasn't solved yet
- Episode 2 - Deception, A noble fight against injustice
- Mackenzie has awarded a prize from Mayor Tom (although he was forced to) to go on a train. While Mackenzie, Cromwell, Penelope and Chole were having a great time, a robbery occured in another section. It turns out that one of Eric's suitcase, which contains the relic of the Seabottom Dwellers was stolen by The Cornstalker and coincendentally, Inspector Daria was there to investigate, but wasn't any help due to her recurring illness. After investigating the passangers and luggages, Mackenzie found out that the old lady is the Constalker but he manage to escaped in the last station. What is more surprising is that Eric is the culprit who plans to fool the Cornstalker by stealing an empty suitcase while the real suitcase is with him all along. But the Cornstalker wasn't fooled by his plan and steal the real one. Mackenzie gave a chase and manage to recover the relic while The Cornstalker escaped again.
- Episode 3 - Delivarance, The curse of cumilative destinies
- Harrison has recently discovered an amber and a human fossil in the pyramid. Makenzie, Penelope and Chloe were on a field trip to the museum (which turns out to be a Museum about Mayor Tom only) when suddenly someone vandalize his statue. Makanzie decides to investigate, using this chance as a report, and accidentaly becomes Harrison's assistant. With the help of Penelope and Chloe, they manage to move the human fossil into Mayor Tom's museum only to be given a shocking news that the human fossil is acutally the Fossil Hunter that was supposed to be cursed. The next day, Mackenzie receive a warning letter that he plans to steal the amber from the museum. Harrison was about to make a press conferance (although no one came) when Inspector Daria came. She tells everyone to clear out the museum and with the help of the security guard and her new partner, Chloe, they decides to guard the museum for the Cornstalker. Thanks to Makenzie's trick, she manage to enter the museum only to find another shocking appearance by an alien hitting a hole in the Mayor's portrait. After that commotion, Harrison came asking her where is the artifact. She lie to him and manage to swipe the real amber with the fake one. Suddenly, the real Harrison came in and the 'Harrison' who just came in turns out to be the Cornstalker and stelad the fake amber while Harrison gave it a chase. Mackenzie puts the amber into the Fossil Hunter's eye and it gave life. He explains everything and the alien turns out to be one of the Seabottom Dweller. After that explaination, he tells her it is cased closed while outside the Cornstalker said "See you in the next episode"
- Episode 4 - Recollection, An illusion hidden in the melody
- Penelope rushed into Mackenzie's office to tell her that she has seen a corpse inside the Haunted mansion green house. As both of them were in there, they (and Chloe who suddenly appeared) realizr and assume he was sleeping and they tries to devise a way to wake the person up. But after failing to wake her up, Mackenzie manage to touch the body and tell them it is a doll. She also fined a hole in it and uses the wind-up key that she found inside the mansion. The doll wakes up and introduces himself as Silver. He says he doesn't know why he can talk and think but he has a problem as he lost couldn't sing normally. He was singing in a party when a bright flash appeared and blinded him and after he wakes up, he couldn't sing normally. He even mention a girl who he taught it was the mansion's little daughter, listens to his voice but she sits in a corner even though it is not a good place to listen. But as she moves closer to the window that is when there bright flash appeared and never see her again. Mackenzie decides to help Silver to find the missing girl he saw even though the mansion was empty for many years. After gather information, Makenzie decide to make her own ghost detector in order to find out the truth. When she enters the mansion, Makenzie makes a shocking discovery that Collen, the girl who was inside the mansion, is a real ghost and the mansion is really haunted. Mackenzie figure out that Collen's the mysterious that Silver mention as this is also when people can see her. Mackenzie tells her about Silver but she was too afraid of it and ran away. Mackenzie came back to the green house and ask Silver to sing again yet Silver ask them to cover their ears to not hear their song so they did. As he sings, The Cornstalker, who was supposed to steal him, drops by and forgets about him as his singing is bad. Silver takes a blow and feels very sad about it. Luckily, Mackenzie found Collen outside the green house hiding, thanks to Silver's voice. Mackenzie convinces her to apologize to him and she did. Not brave to go inside, she stand near the window and apologize to Silver. Silver sings happily (although it is still bad) but suddenly, Spooky the cat scared Collen and she went through the window. Mackenzie decides to check it out only to see that she disappeared. Surprisingly, the window begin to shine again and Silver can sing normally. As she leaves the building, Mackenzie realize that Collen was still there beside Silver through the silver window.
- Episode 5 - Invasion, A vendetta of afar
- Chloe and Penelopebusts into Mackenzie's office to inform Mackenzie that Chloe has found a raffel voucher that the grand prize is a Mongolian Beef. At the same time Penelope wants to visit the Ancient Artifact exibition that shows the Seabottom Dwellers artifacts. So the three of them decides to search for four more raffel in order to join the contest. During that time, Mackenzie finally receive her ID card from The Great Detective's Society, although she hates the title name. After collecting all five raffels, Mackenzie was also given a VIP pass to visit inside the exibition and invites Cromwell to join along with them. So during their time in the department store, Chloe lost the prize and only gets a backscratcher while the artifact is stolen by the Cornstalker. Mackenzie and her friends manage to track him down inside the pink elephant structure, the Cornstalker and tried to retrive it back but as the Cornstalker connects the artifacts together, a spaceship takes the elephant room with everyone inside. Mackenzie then wakes up only to find herself alone and the rest of the gang even the Cornstalker were captured. Mackenzie soon discovered that the Seabottom Dwellers are actually aliens from outer space planning to take over planet Earth. After Mackenzie manage to free everyone and retrive the stolen artifact, Mackenzie plant Cromwell's timebomb and they manage to espaced inside the modified elephant structure and foil the alien's plans. In the end, they were only to be welcomed by the Men in Black guys.

Most critics gave the game a mediocre score. Gamespot gave it a 5.5 out of ten, stating, "Touch Detective returns with wacky new adventures and a fresh coat of paint, but the frustratingly esoteric puzzle design is the same as before."[2] GameZone gave the game a seven out of ten, citing the lack of change from the previous version.[3]
